FIREFIGHTER/EMS

Statistical data indicates that today’s firefighters health and safety are at a much higher risk due to exposure and buildup of contaminants found in day-to-day fire operations. NFPA has addressed these risks and has developed new standards regarding the protective clothing to be cleaned and maintained properly.

CLEANGEAR USA methods have been proven as an inexpensive way to effectively comply with these standards and help extend the wear life and replacement cycle for new gear by reducing yearly capital expenditures. The cost of cleaning this gear will prove to be a fraction of the replacement cost. The firefighters' lives and safety is our top priority to insure them and their families that every effort is made to ensure that your turnout gear affords you the maximum protection possible.

CLEANGEAR USA uses a unique system for the cleaning of fire protection gear. All cleaning is in compliance with the current NFPA 1851 standards and manufacturers specifications for all structural fire fighting protective equipment. With our new specially formulated detergents we are able to remove smoke, grime, hydrocarbon buildup, dirt, soot and harmful contaminants from the gear. All shells and liners are cleaned separately to minimize the possibility of cross contamination.

CLEANGEAR USA uses the Esporta Wash System of cleaning. Each item is held in its own separate compartment, which reduces rubbing of the gear that would adversely affect the fire retardant treatments in the fabric. Conventional machines have to slow down to compensate for this undesirable stress. Our cleaning action is ideally suited for this industry and is gentle on the seams, reflective tape, and fasteners on the gear. In addition we help to preserve the water and fire repellant characteristics of the materials.
